Let's say, I have two unrevelant sites with 100s of indexed pages.
I put one link (linking to the other one) to each of the two sites' main page. (So I'll have 100s of backlinks to each site.)

Will the search engine ranking of both sites increase?

What do you think?

Hi zxn, found this article on the very subject, good info for your question...

M
ain highlights for me were :
1. Host on separate ip's
2. Don't do it from every single page on each site.
3. Unique content on each site.

So basically, if they are two legitimate websites both with unique content, pop a link in the frontpage content to each other. Should be fine. Not as good as a one way link on a related website but still fine.

It will help but u need decent page rank.

Also having different ips is a must but really and truly it needs to be different C class ips if possible..
Having the websites in the same account shows up as a red flag to google and it doesnt really help u in any way..
Getting even further out there u can get different A class ips meaning different host all togethers..

I know of a some people who run differnt networks of pr6 and above about 60 sites .. they charge montly spots which have less than 30=40 outbound links per home page
