I'm looking at the 'search queries' data in GWT, and the average position it's showing for some search terms bears no relation to reality, that I can see.
The site is listed as averaging anything from position 1 to 2.1 for a number of search terms - if I check them manually I'm showing high results in my personalised SERPs, but using google global I'm around position 50-70, which is what I'd expect.
Plus given that the click through rate is listed as 2%, I'm obviously not getting the first couple of positions.
I've apparently got 73 impressions in a month for one term despite an average position of 120. Lot of people clicking through to page 12 there.
So is the GWT data a load of rubbish? Or am I misunderstanding something?
