Is twitter the new news medium?

Just blogged this, that the last few big news stories I had got word of them on twitter long before they appeared anywhere else.

Is twitter becoming a news platform?

I can see it having "a" use, but the UI sucks badly.

I don't think its becoming a news platform, attention seeking platform yes.

The only use I see to it is watching people spill the beans on specific things, its unbelievable what information people are sharing on it. I know of one person that should be sacked on the spot for being so open about the company he/she works for.

As for the UI, its big time crap.

I *think* you are following one person that springs to mind but there again I wouldn't be surprised if lots of curve balls are being thrown purposely, if you know what I mean?
