Can anyone tell me how my PR5 site could have dropped to PR0 overnight???

Glitch. There's only two ways it can happen, total loss of all links (unlikely) or a linkage based penalty that brings a PR0 and G has moved away from giving out PR0s following some bad publicity a couple of years ago...

Looks like it was a glitch after all as it's back to normal now.

It happens to some of my websites as well. Its due to results coming from a back-up server due to anything on Google side.

If you seen it through the Google tool bar you probably hit a dead Data Centre.

Use a tool such as Live Page Rank to give you a more overview on how your PR looks. If you see the PR starting to drop in the majority of the D.C's then its time to start asking questions.
