I'm writing some articles for my website. For example I'm writing, "if your looking to go for a first date in Dublin (example/external link) is an ideal place. It's calm & relaxed etc etc...

Should I use the external link or just mention the place without the link?

Thanks.

I assume this question is being asked in terms of "are there SEO negatives attached to doing..."?

If that's the case, if there is a benefit to your users (as there is in this case) to you doing something, completely forget about the SEO impacts of it. Consider SEO when it's a toss of a coin decision or where it has no negative impacts on a call, but when there's a clear benefit to your users to do something, do it.

(In terms of SEO, and for the benefit of your users, just be sure not to link to spammy/questionable sites)
