Make it a social network

I'm not into gaming either but the theme you are using doesn't look like it would appeal to a typical gaming demographic (12-30 year old males?).

I would also recommend building a far more dynamic and social site using a different platform such as ning.com.

It's free and you get forums, blogs, chatrooms etc etc.

I'd personally never start a forum using an old school platform. Sure it works for this very forum and many other established sites but to build a real community, I think you need to make socialising easier.
