Any idea how long a domain transfer can take?
I transferred a .com almost 24 hours ago, have the content set up on the new host, but it's still pointing at the old one according to nslookup.
I'm a bit suspicious as the domain name was originally registered by a web design company for a friend, but in their name instead of his, and I had a nasty feeling they were going to look for payment for it, but they gave me an unlock code yesterday.
If that code wasn't valid, would I have found out as soon as I tried to process the transfer?
Is there any way I can see what the TTL is set as?
Just done a bit of googling and tried nslookup with 'set debug' turned on - it's showing the TTL for the domain as either ~7000 or ~10000 - but I'm not sure that's the actual TTL I'm looking for.
