Register365 are owned and operated by Domain Names and Web Hosting - Domain Names, Hosting, Dedicated Server Solutions and Broadband ADSL, Namesco Limited, a UK company. Hosting365 is an independant, privately owned Irish company.

Until the transition to the new Register365 clusters is complete, register365 has temporary use of the hosting365.ie domain name for the server aliases and control panel urls - this was to ensure minimal disruption.

Feel free to post your sites or domains with register365 to lend credibility to your views, I would also recommend calling them on 1890 944 500 to complain / discuss, as their support is improving all the time.

Who are you trying to kid? Register 365 could easily have their domain name resolving in the time it takes to recover from one of their frequent outages!

Even the Name Servers for Register365 are "NS1 and NS2.HOSTING365.IE"
I've been reading for MONTHS!!! that Register365 are only using the Hosting365.ie domain name until successful migration has been completed.. How long does this take?

If Register365 and Hosting365 aren't the same company then why do Hosting365 allow their name to be brought into disrepute by a company using the Hosting365 name to provide what can only be described at best as an extremely poor service?

To me, this stinks the same as Windscale changing its name to Sellafield after their nuclear 'accident'.
And considering the 'fact' that you're not the same company, you seem to be jumping to their defence quite a lot ... why is this?

I won't post my clients' domains but I'll gladly post some of the outage reports for you if you wish?

Just as a small note, I spoke to the namesco guys this morning - all the transfer / release fees have been dropped for all register365 customers.

That's not true Stephen,
I received this on the 25th Feb 2009

Hi there,

To transfer your .com domain registration to another registrar, please do the following:

[] log into your online account at http://www.names.co.uk/controlpanel.html
[] click on the domain name you wish to transfer, under 'my domains'
[] click the "DNS & Transfer Options" link to the left
[] then another 3 options will appear please click 'transfer domain'
[] follow option 4, 'transfer domain away from Namesco'
[] Follow the on-screen instructions, your domain will then be unlocked and ready for transfer, which your new provider has to start and the admin contact will be updated so you receive the transfer emails. You will also be sent your domains authorisation code within 24 hours.
[] there is a £10+vat charge to transfer away these domains

That is what I got back after posting on there admin.register365.com control panel.

Are they even handling support here in Ireland or is everything sent to the UK!

Everything is in the UK, sounds like you got a rep who didn't understand you were an Irish customer. Chirag Patel is the customer care manager if you need an escalation.

Just got an email from support stating the details how to move my domain and the final line was:

You will not be charged for this process.

So an issue addressed and put right. Credit to them for that.

All my customers' sites have been down since 9am this morning and they're still down four and a half hours later!!!!!

You're a disgrace!!

e2a ... 2 of the sites are back up (sites with no database) but still can't access the majority of them... 5 hours and counting!!!

Some are slowly coming back online five and a half hours later but nothing stable yet.

Yes, I saw that too but I still can't connect to some of my sites and I'm still waiting for recovery reports from the companies that are monitoring them.
I've asked numerous people from all over the globe to try to connect to them and they're unable to also.

The problem lies with whatever mysql database server i'm using (sql6.hosting365.ie). It's taking me 10 mins to connect to the databases.

I'm sick of this situation. I'll be migrating all my sites to another host effective immediately... it's a joke!

...did you ring them?

Yes, I've just got off the phone with them and they admit there has been a problem with their 'sql6' server since late last night. They have no idea what's causing the problem and therefore can't give me any idea as to how long it is going to take to fix it!!!

e2a... As they're obviously and admittedly aware of a problem with this database server, how can they advertise that "This service is fully operational" when it clearly and admittedly isn't!?!?

Update!!!

Sites are finally back online but this really was the straw that broke the camel's back...

The following is the recovery report for one of my sites. Does anyone think this is acceptable...?

Needless to say I haven't hosted the image on a register365 server because I want it to remain visible!!!
