'google directory' Payment?

I have a client who is convinced that you can do Paid Submissions to the "google directory". As far as I know the google directory is Dmoz.org and it is free. I think that perhaps she is talking about paid submissions to the yahoo directory. Does anyone have any ideas what I might be missing here?

Sounds like total confusion

Google uses a modified version of Dmoz for its directory ..

Yahoo! US takes paid submissions
Yahoo! UK/ Ireland doesn't

You sure client doesn't mean Paid Listings on Google rather than paid submissions?

Plenty of sites happy to charge you to submit you to dmoz.

Perhaps he has seen once of these.
