Michele got his website ranked number 5 globally for "linux hosting" :)

clarify something for me.

search results are localised, aren't they? if you search "linux hosting" in ireland, blacknight will return on the first screen. but if you search from another country, you could get a different result. no?

Magico do use standards

Richardo. If you ever saw an early draft that didn't comply to standards - this was only a graphic design. ALL of our websites are XHTML compliant, not just when a customer asks for it.

The site didn't validate because we weren't serving it to the validator. This has been corrected, and you can see it now.

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lilyobriens.ie%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&ss=1&outline=1&No200=1&verbose=1

And the site is very well search engine optimized. We know what we're doing here. That's why all of our sites rank high.

And the site IS hosted in Dublin, not the UK.

No. It wasn't an early graphics draft. It was a completed site. All pages were in situ.

And I don't remember commenting on where the site was hosted?

Hi Russ

With all due respect, you were serving an error message with a 200 response code to GoogleBot.

If that's what you consider good SEO you should be ashamed of yourself.

Hi Russ,

Seeing as you are answering queries, there was one little query I had about the site...

As a matter of interest, how are people to navigate the site if they have Javascript disabled?

------------------------------
JavaScript Statistics

There are no absolute trends about the use of JavaScript. Some users have scripting turned off. Some browsers don't support scripting:
2007 January
JavaScript On
94%
JavaScript Off
6%
-------------------------------

6% of customers is a lot to ignore?

Oh and by the way -
ALL of our websites are XHTML compliant, not just when a customer asks for it
Take a look - Result for http://www.magico.ie/magico3/www/index.asp?aff= - W3C Markup Validator

As I'm not some Goldenspiders asshole masquerading as a judge with web expertise, I tend to be a lot more cynical when it comes to cloaked sites and SEO. I noticed that you've broken all the site links from Google.com's cache. Way to go! Ever heard of 30n redirects? And as for the lack of metadata and poor use of title space on the home page - do you really know about SEO?

Regards...jmcc
