PR Rating??

Can someone explain to me this PR rating for a site and how you check it for a site??

Have a read of:
Google Technology

The basic idea is that the more "trusted" and "important" a site is the higher its page rank will be.

You can easily check a site's pr by installing the google toolbar

These days the PR we get shown is more an indication of link numbers than anything else, for example sites that overuse reciprocal links can have them discounted for ranking purposes but would still show a high PR.

Good point, and not to mention that PR is only one factor of many determining ranking in the first place.

My overall advice - forget PR and concentrate on rankings. Pr will follow you then.

Seems to me visable PR matters mostly to those who can gain from it through link sales or links schemes...
