Hi
I have inherited a messy CSS style sheet, and it is very hard to know what css elements control what pieces of html text on my website. I have 75 pages so it is quite complex.
Is there any tool which shows the css element that is controlling a piece of html text? I am not a web designer so I need something straightforward. Also is there a way to clean up the style sheet without it making my site unstable?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, the best tool I've seen for inspecting elements on a web page is the "Element Inspector" function on the "Firebug" firefox plugin.

With this you just click on the element you want to inspect and it shows all the css info you will need.

I've also seen similar offerings in the developer tools of IE 8 and Chrome.
