Dear Irish friends,

I'm a webmaster from Holland, and yesterday I tried to register a personal .ie domain.
I'd really like to have this name because it consists of the first 4 letters of my firstname which ends in ie.

Now I am required to provide additional information.

The registration of personal domain names will be open to all individuals who can authenticate a claim to the domain name and who have a real and substantive connection to the island of Ireland

Well to be honest, I do get monthly payments from Google Europe based in Ireland, but don't know if that's a substantive connection?
And if it were I've never gotten any letters from Google, so how would I prove the connection.

I have to provide the domain registrar with this information.
Please advice, what would be the best approach?

Unless you can show proof of trade with Ireland AND a clear connection to the name you won't be able to register it
In your case I would suspect that it will be rejected, as the registry's policies on "personal names" is very very narrow
