I was just wondering if it's legal to sort of bridge content off another website, e.g. to embed the myspace flash player of a few different bands on a page etc.

If the website has embed option like youtube does then it should be fine, I haven't been on myspace in ages though. If you're ripping the code from a website that doesn't give an option to embed then it's probably not a good idea and probably best to get permission first.

I agree with Tom ... Some sites provide content for use on other sites - be warned that duplicated text content though causes a whole lot of issues.

YouTube content can be very nice for sites and blogs especially.

I cannot see any reason for copying someones content other than sheer laziness....
